I ended up with only two days in the album and then lost interest. But with Week in the Life 2017 getting ready to start on Monday I figured I should at least look at last year’s album. I immediately feel in love with the project all over again. There were so many details and great photos (maybe a little too many, but that’s never here or there). I felt a sudden urge to finish the album. Happily I found two more days complete on my computer that I all I had to do was print the pages out, great! And then I created Friday and called it done. It doesn’t include the weekend and that’s ok. I’m so happy to have this album complete. Not only do I feel better about having a completed album, but I love the memories it holds.
Now that 2016 is finished and on the shelve again, I feel good about starting 2017. For this year I purchased Ali Edward’s kit, which is amazing by the way.
This year I plan to be more intentional with the photos I take and the stories I tell. I will not be taking 250 photos in one day like I did last year. It’s just too much for me and I don’t want my album to look like that. I took inspiration from Ali’s latest blog post about Week in the Life where she talks about setting up her album ahead of time. It’s not foundation pages like December Daily it’s just layout out the page protectors and understanding how many slots you have to fill. When she did that it showed about 12 slots to fill per day, so I’m going to shoot for that.
I plan to use my big camera for this project and hopefully it will result in better pictures and some more practice with my camera.
Anyway I feel pretty good about my plan for 2017, a little bit of winging it and a little bit of planning, the perfect combination. 🙂
Would love to know if you plan to join in for this year’s Week in the Life.
You can check out my Week in the Life video where I talk more about my complete 2016 album and my plans for 2017, there is always a flip through of my 2016 album.
